Fitch is perhaps more deserving and the only reason that he and Koscheck were not matched up is that Zuffa was afraid it would be a spooning match. Personally I wish Thiago Alves would get his act together. Condit would've been an ok match up but I think you're right about that. Kos is just going to get destroyed again.

I think Kos' wins says a lot. He is the rare type that can transform wrestling into a complete MMA game. If he wasn't marketable, he is now.

Yes...Duke is great!!!!!!!!!!!

@ Bill aka: wardog

Who is more deserving? Jon Fitch is the only one that comes to mind. He's got more wins, but they're all very close. More importantly would another match with GSP even be needed. He was so thoughrouly defeated the first fight that I don't think anyone wants to see the rematch.

I just wish Condit would have gotten the decision over Kampman. I think he deserved it and he would probably be on his way to title shot right now. Although hes not stopping a GSP takedown either.

You forgot one main thing... money! As far as the LHW's and for that matter MMA PPV draws Randy is in the top three of all time (Liddell, Lesnar, and Tito being the other big ones). Couture defeats Toney he may just get the shot because he may never get another one and it would still be a big draw PPV wise. Wait too long and that window may close.

And lets face it with GSP vs. Kos for the title in the future the UFC really is not concerned with legitimacy when it comes to title contention. Kos is the most marketable welterweight at the moment (Daley would've been with the whole Britain vs. Canada aspect) but is he really number one? Or is it that he generates more hype than any of the others?
