The one thing that I find disturbing is most reports are stating that Jones used illegal elbows as if all his elbow strikes were illegal. I believe he used the 12-6 elbow 2-3 times.

Hamill's trainer admit his shoulder was dislocated when he was taken down by Jones. They said that was the first time Hamill was ever taken down by an opponent in 11 professional fights. (source: MMAJunkie report)

I am angrier than Dana White, but (in defense of Dana) I don't have to deal with NSAC.

The 12-6 elbow did open the second (and worse of the two) cut on the bridge of the nose. However, you're right that there's a moment where Hamill appears to be completely unconscious.

I do think the fight should have been stopped earlier. There was a point during the barrage of blows that Hamill appeared to go out of consciousness, only to be awakened by another blow to the head.

The upgraded point-deduction to a DQ is unfortunate but I think Jones should have simply been issued a clear warning. I didn't watch it as many times as you did, but I don't think the 12-6 elbow was the strike that caused the cut.

If there was just a warning, then the referee would have realized that Hamill was already finished. The battered face and the dislocated shoulder (probably due to the incredible slam) doesn't stop you from getting up.

Josh, you sound angrier than Dana White.
