My opinion of a fight is that both people know what they are doing. What is exciting for me is when you really don't know who the favorite is. Weather it is on the ground or on the feet i can appreciate any fight that you can tell that people are really working on it. But i do have to say i do appreciate a good solid hit. that might be because I'm more of a striker myself.

hey check this out great way to add something more to your strike

I will say this that with the exception of when one guy "lays and prays" and the other guy has no ground game, then the ground fight are great. But stand ups can be the same way... two guys with no skill just swinging away or two hesitant fighters? Yuck! A KO is great but I want to see good fights (especially paying for them!) and something like the Forrest vs. Silva fight was a joke! I was like 5th row from the cage and was not looking forward to that fight one bit! Thank god there were some good ones on that card!

I think Randy Couture was trying to take Vera down to finish the fight, the problem was he couldn't. Vera on the other hand (the idiot he is) wanted to prove he can out wrestle Randy that he forgot to win the fight(he could've easily). That what made the fight "boring".
And how about the Bisping fight?, that was awesome. I'm a Bisping fan now.

I've come to accept all part of MMA as nessessary as well as expected.

I fully expected Randy to come into the Vera fight wanting to pull out an ugly win, I even predicted it over at MMAForum. Randy has NEVER been an "exciting" fighter, he's always been a very ugly fighter who suffocates and grinds guys down. His "exciting" fights are usually ones he loses or eventually turn into grindfests. He beat Tim Sylvia in an so-called "exciting" fight when only the first few minutes were really so. Randy Couture is an awe-inspiring fighter, where you think he has no hope he finds a way to totally shut down the other guy.

I like the chess match fights, where you know the fighters are thinking about what they're doing. Sure, watching two guys try to take the other's head off is entertaining, but so it watching guys transition from position to position and both attempt submissions.

Fighters should be rewarded for trying to finish fights but shouldn't be punished for controlling them. This is still a sport and a win is just as valid when a guy gets a KO in 20 seconds as the guy who grinds out 12-15 minutes of control.

I don't care if it's the ground or on the feet, I just want the fighters to hold nothing back and try everything in their power to end the fight before the final bell.

Randy went into his last fight with the obvious intent to pull out a grinding decision win. That kind of stuff doesn't fly with me. Doesn't matter if a new guy does it or a legend. It's not fighting. It's stalling and it should be stopped as many times as possible until both fighters start letting it all out there in the octagon.

Watching two hesitant strikers throw paddy-cake punches at each other can be just as boring and frustrating to watch as hug-a-thon ground fighting.

Fighters who come to fight will always be cool and those who just want to stall their way to a hopeful victory really take the air out of an event's sails. And for a fighter to do that shit in the main event is the absolute worst. They certainly didn't get booked in the main event fighting that way, so why start doing it there?
