Lesnar Out of UFC 106

UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar (4-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC, #2 IWMMAR) has been forced to drop out of his title defense at UFC 106 due to illness. According to a report by Kevin Iole, Lesnar has been unable to train for three-and-a-half weeks.
Title contender Shane Carwin (11-0 MMA, 3-0 MMA, #5 IWMMAR) expressed disappointment with Lesnar dropping off, and I’m sure fans will reciprocate, as Lesnar is the UFC’s largest draw and the event was supposed to be a huge title fight between two mammoth heavyweights. At present, the bout seems only postponed, but UFC 106: Lesnar vs. Carwin may have to get renamed.

Well looking at the rest of the card I would say they will need to add another top fight to sell this thing. I mean nothing crazy because people will want to see Tito vs. Forrest, but the other co-headlining fights are not that interesting. I mean Karo Parisyan vs. Dustin Hazlett as the co-main event? Someone has to be put in there.
I’d say they should leave Carwin on there. Feed him Cheick Kongo or another relatively well known heavyweight.
The UFC is saying they are moving the event to early 2010. They haven’t added any bouts to the card, but Forrest vs. Tito is now the main event. There should be another decent one added I say throw Thiago Silva vs. Rashad Evans on there. Wasn’t this supposed to be the card Evans and Rampage fought anyway? It is still a month away.
