MMA World Expo

By Bryan Levick on Sep 30, 2009

worldmmaAs the state of NY continues its struggle to legalize the sport of mixed martial arts, the fans, trainers, sponsors and fighters continue their push to bring this great sport to the Empire state.

I attended the NY MMA Expo back in August which was held at the Uniondale Marriott next to the Nassau Coliseum. Sponsored by Fighter Warehouse NY, American Fighter NY, MMA Fight Council, Silver Star, TapouT and many other great schools, supplements suppliers and clothing manufacturers, the show was a great first step in bringing MMA to NY.

Now we can all look forward to the World MMA Expo making its way to NY. The event will be held at the world famous Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan, NY. This expo is open to anyone and will take place on October 24th-25th. There will be a ton of exhibitors looking to spread the word about mixed martial arts.

Fighter Warehouse NY, American Top Team, The Vitamin Shoppe, Brazilian Top Team and Everlast are just a few of the exhibitors who will be there both days. There will be live seminars, classes and panel discussions throughout the weekend.

If you are a school looking to market your gym this is the place to be. If you are a fighter there will be live technique demonstrations presented by such illustrious martial artists like, Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro, Marcelo Garcia, 1976 Olympic Gold Medalist Howard Davis, Team Jackson’s own, Kru Phil Nurse and Murilo Bustamante.

If you are looking to attend you can go to the expo’s website here. There are different options whether or not you are a fighter, fan or a business owner. If you would like information on having your own exhibit you can do so by going here. This is something you do not want to miss out on. It is the first MMA Expo in NYC. They are anticipating over 10,000 attendees!!

If you are a fan this is a great chance to meet some of the athletes who make this sport as great as it is. You can liken it to being a kid in a candy store. There are even specials for those of you who plan on attending both days, the expo has hooked up with a few area hotels who have offered discounts, you can check that out here.

For more information on exhibit sales you can contact Jane Limmer at 917-338-6919 or you can email here at jane@mmaworldexpo.com. You can also contact Joe Perrino at 808-294-1382 or email him at joe@mmaworldexpo.com.

For schools, gyms and academy inquiries please contact Paul Papone at 212-956-4720 or email him at paul@mmaworldexpo.com. For all general inquiries please send an email to info@mmaworldexpo.com.

I can’t believe MMA still isn’t a legal sport in a progressive state like NY. They need to get with the program
