It’s clear Wilcox doesn’t want to stand and trade with Douglas, who’s much taller. Cook shakes his head to show Big John that he wants no more, but eats a hard left from Lightly before the bout is stopped.

Both Hieron and Taylor are greeted with indifference by the crowd as they walk out. Taylor moves around the ring a little bit, trying out his new shaved head. Hieron looks incredibly calm as he enters the ring.

The round ends shortly after and the fans boo.
Round Two: Taylor shoots in. Hieron grabs the guillotine and rolls Taylor, taking the mount position. Hieron works in a rear naked choke, then transitions to the arm triangle as a bloody Taylor escapes by bellying down and pulling guard. Taylor shoots as Hieron steps away, taking a leaf out of the bullfighter playbook, landing a knee and scoring a takedown. Dean stands the fight up as the round ends.

Hieron scores the takedown. The two stand, Taylor looks out of breath and Hieron looks lazy as the round ends.
The score is 30-27 for Hieron. While Jay will get the W and Taylor will get the L, the real loser here is the crowd.

Cyborg looks tired by keeps moving forward and throwing hard punches. Gina doesn’t land much of anything in response. The two clinch and Carano lands a glancing elbow. mousasi.
gina.
Well I want Gina to win, but I think Cyborg is going to knock her out. I can’t help my love for cute Italian ladies.
Well Cyborg took over pretty quickly. Who the hell is going to beat her?
Erin Toughill vs. Cyborg would be interested… better than Cyborg vs. Coenen IMO. No idea why they mentioned Tara since she’s in another weight class…mostly fought 135 and now at 125.
As for Gina, I think Cindy Dandois would be interesting, or maybe they’ll finally let her fight Shayna. Even Shayna put up a better fight against Cyborg than Gina did.
Did they show any prelims?
Cuz I heard they didn’t and that would mean less then 5 rounds of fighting in 2 hours…Musta been slow paced! Dana is probably happy.
No prelims and no televised Taylor vs. Hieron. It was a pretty quick show, that’s for sure.
I can say that it was an awesome event. There were almost no bad fights on the card (we have Jay Hieron and JT Money to thank for that qualifying “almost,” and be glad the fight wasn’t aired. It was a terrible snoozefest, and normally I enjoy the grappling.
There were only a few moments in round two where that fight was even the least bit interesting.
There were some great undercard performances courtesy of Alex Trevino, James Terry and Scott Lighty.
Personally, I thought Trevino had the best submission of the night. Terry had the best knock out, which was absolutely wicked. Fight of the Night was definitely the Cyborg vs. Carano fight. That was probably one of the greatest single rounds I’ve ever seen.
As for who’s going to beat Cyborg: nobody’s going to beat her for a while. She’s an absolute monster.
