Josh Barnett Denies Steroid Allegations
By Yael Grauer on Jul 29, 2009
In an official statement released today, Josh Barnett vehemently denied “intentionally ingesting any banned substances” while preparing for the now-cancelled August 1st fight against Fedor Emelianenko. According to the statement, Barnett is looking forward to presenting his case to the CSAC.
As reported previously, Luis Farias, Communications Director at the Department of Consumer Affairs (which oversees the CSAC) confirmed on July 22nd that the Commission was “still looking” at a second sample at Barnett’s request. Farias has not returned repeated phone calls requesting comment on the status of Sample B.
Barnett’s statement, written in conjunction with all of his representatives, stated that he “has yet to learn of the results of the B sample testing and he has not received any of the documentation that provides further details of the alleged positive sample despite numerous requests. In fact, the documentation that Mr. Barnett has received raises serious questions about the integrity of the sample and the validity of the results themselves.”

A week late in my opinion. Why doesn’t M-1 call Joshie up and schedule a fight between the two in Japan? All I can hope for is that both guys somehow beat each other into retirement so I no longer have to hear the Josh’s name mentioned and I can finally give up on my dreams of Fedor in the UFC.
What a riot that would be….his sample B comes back clean “oops, sorry Affliction…..”
I wonder if Dana’s check to the Commission has cleared yet!
Its all good…Barry Bonds, Marion Jones, and Sean Sherk all denied use of P.E.Ds…
I spoke with Farias again and he said that they’d be issuing another statement tomorrow. He also said he never received the phone messages I left which he didn’t respond to.
