Bryan you are right about not seeing a GSP vs. Silva match up, because GSP will not take it! Swick is exciting so people may want that. Fitch needs a more impressive victory to gain another shot. Swick is exciting but does not seem ready just yet. But GSP fights in his division right now there are no major contenders. And unless the UFC rushes a match up, we won't see him fight for a while.

As far as Henderson, he actually won the first round of the fight against Silva, so he poses the biggest threat right now. No one wants to see a rematch of Silva vs. Marquardt right now (lets wait and see about Marquardt after the Maia fight)and Maia needs to show the UFC more (even if he submits Nate quick) before they give him a shot (Silva is too good to get pulled into a BJJ game). I don't understand why Henderson would not get the shot, unless they feel Nate is more marketable.

Lesnar is taking advantage of a weak division, which is good considering his lack of experience. Lets look at who the possible future match ups are: Velasquez, Carwin, Couture, Nogueira, Mir, or maybe Cro Cop or Dos Santos. Out of those fighters Cro Cop and Dos Santos are long shots. Mir will not get an immediate rematch. Nogs and Couture are viewed as "past their prime" by many and few would like to see Couture vs. Lesnar II. So unless any of those fighters makes a huge statement we are looking at Carwin and Velasquez. So if those two meet up to decide a number one contender we are really looking at two fighters with only one win over a top tier opponent each. Meanwhile Lesnar can argue he has wins over three. Also aside from Carwins stand up, Lesnar seems to hold the advantage in wrestling, size, speed, and strength. Advantage Lesnar all around.
