Rampage and Rashad are the TUF 10 coaches

Rampage says "Black on black crime"
(UPDATE) Quinton Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans will be coaches on the 10th season of The Ultimate Fighter show. Rampage passed up a shot at Lyoto Machida and instead will indeed be facing Rashad Evans at seasons end.
Machida really did put a snag in the UFC’s plans, because they tried desperately not to give him a title shot and then they probably expected him to lose having already pegged Jackson as the TUF 10 coach before Machida laid the beat down on Rashad at UFC 98. Looks like the UFC is pretending Rashad didn’t get knocked out last Saturday and will go ahead with their plans anyway.
Also, Shogun Rua is rumored to get a title shot against the Dragon in September.
(UPDATE) The 10th season will consist of only 16 heavyweights who do not have to fight to earn a spot on the show. MMAjunkie learned that middleweights were told get to steppin last week.

It must suck to have a champ that you can’t market….
Yeah, I figured this was gonna happen. Machida would make a bad TUF coach. This season, at least, should be interesting.
Well…if they can’t market Machida…they are going to spend a ton of $$$ figuring it out. He will be champ for a while I predict.
Mitch: People thought that about other fighters like Couture, Liddell, GSP etc. Someone always comes along to shake things up.
They are most certainly fighting. Machida will defend his belt in September against someone else, most likely Shogun.
too many places have anonymous sources saying who and when machida will be fighting next….i’ve read jackson in sept but who knows.
I’ve heard that Machida is too elusive to predict…
Machida will fight Rampage in September, and when Rampage loses to Machida, he will fight Rashad. Rashad will beat Rampage and again lose to Machida.
thanks ed soares. tell machida to come on here too.
It would have been interesting to see Machida drink his urine. It would go along with the reoccurring bodily fluids theme from last season.
MW, that’s along the lines of 2 girls one cup…no thank you.
i updated it again…cheese…
” . . . because they tried desperately not to give him a title shot”
Dana White has believed in Machida since Day 1 so why deny a undefeated fighter the title? It’s not really difficult to market an undefeated karate fighter. He didn’t put a snag into any of their plan any more than Evans or Rampage upset over Liddell or Anderson Silva’s taking the belt away from Franklin. Fighter’s lose.
Shogun signed the contract to face Machida in September.
Jackson and Evans as coaches makes more sense and easier to market two english speaking fighters. Machida’s english is very limited . . . not as good as Big Nog’s command of the language.

Even then, published reports at the time said that it still would not have happened if Zuffa had been able to convince Georges St. Pierre to move up his title defense against Thiago Alves to May 23.
The only reason they finally gave Machida the title shot when they did, rather than having him fight yet again before getting a title shot and likely against another tough opponent like Thiago Silva, was because all three of these things happened:
1. Quinton Jackson was hurt and couldn’t fight on May 23
2. Frank Mir was hurt and couldn’t fight on May 23
3. GSP was not willing to move his fight up to May 23
If any two of those things had happened, we’d be looking forward to Evans vs. Jackson in July, and Machida would have yet another tough fight before getting a title shot.
It’s only because all three of those things happened that Evans vs. Machida happened on May 23.
It’s kind of crazy to think that such an historic night would not have even happened if not for all of those things happening at the same time.

with them having jackson the TUF 10 coach before machida fought rashad, the ufc was expecting rashad to win and be the other tuf 10 coach…they pulled the trigger too early…but they’re like “whatever, just put in rashad anyway”…i don’t think the ufc made the coaches decision on who speaks english but more than what they already had planned, which was to hype up rampage vs rashad. that whole ufc 92 post fight interview smack talk would have looked even more retardeder if rampage didn’t fight rashad.
Some of it does seem like conjecture to me, the information is not coming directly from UFC.com. We don’t know that they expected Rashad to win. Either way, good for Machida, and great MMA fights coming up!
People are already stating that Evans-Jackson have a heated rivalry when Evans already said that he likes Rampage and it is not a big deal to him. I expect Spike to play it up, hype it up and I guess fans will run with what they want to believe. Does Jackson have an issue with Evans like he had with Wanderlei Silva? I doubt it.
Rampage requested Evans:
