Bill, I'd love to see some effort put into a campaign to legalize MMA in the state of New York, and I'd love to see some money put into it.

Clearly, the unions have a ton of money. It's important that we use some of the money in the industry to work on expanding it's reach in the U.S.

Unfortunately, I don't see Dana doing that. He never really launched a major campaign to legalize it in any one state before, and I don't see him doing it now.

Well for the rest of you welcome to New York politics. And as long as the unions are going to oppose legislation being passed legalizing MMA here there is a good chance that it won't. There are also a ton of other issues that they have waiting to air out that will not only prolong the process of getting the sport legal here, but might out right defeat it as well. And aside from some little posters and web postings there has been not a whole lot done to promote legalizing here. Dana needs to launch a media blitz with some big fighters like Liddell, Couture, and others who are college educated and articulate, as well as extremely popular. Heck they have billboards up in Times Square so the audience is there.
