Great pics of Gina, however, does anyone else think that this does more to weaken women in MMA being taken seriously? I understand that there is money to made and wouldn’t begrudge anyone getting paid, but when women are fighting so hard to be taken seriously in the MMA world, photo shoots like this seem to detract from her skills as fighter.

Good point and I agree to an extent.

What this also does is grab the attention of both men and women who have yet to watch and appreciate the sport MMA. I’ve had friends and family watch MMA with me (casual fans) because they heard of Gina Carano and wanted to see her fight. Nobody would expect such a pretty lady to be a fighter, right?

But like you said, it can be detracting. Let’s hope he starts fighting some more to make up for all of this publicity!

I think it all depends on how it is done. I mean aside from doing these pictures her maanger or whoever needs to get her in workout magazines (like Muscle and Fitness for Her etc..) and get her “athletic” exposure as well. I mean they do it with male fighters all the time with articles like “get a fighter’s physique” for guys, why not also do it with Gina and others. What woman wouldn’t want to look like her?
