Rumor: Rampage out, Machida in?

By Curtis Clontz on Mar 10, 2009

collages1-11

The rumors are starting to swirl around the next title fight at 205.  After the UFC 96 Rampage vs Jardine fight, a B rated acting performance went on showcase as Rashad and Rampage tried to hype an up coming title fight…  or so we thought…

Since that time the MMA online world has been going crazy!

Fiveouncesofpain.com posted a quote by Dana White after the fights saying…

“Let’s say you can’t or don’t want to take the fight then Machida would take the fight,” he said. “But we won’t make the decision until you go to the doctor and get your [expletive] checked out and make sure you okay.”

Thesun.co.uk is reporting that the decision has already been made and are posting that…

“SunSport understands Jackson will be named the No1 contender in the division and handed a title shot against the winner of the Evans-Machida bout.”

The UFC hasn’t officially announced any Rampage Jackson injury at this point.  They have also not added an opponent for Rashad for his May title defense in Vegas.

Well thank you Garrett! Nothing like fishing for compliments…

Not a bad video. I usually don’t care for the Dana Vlogs.

I am hoping it is Machida that takes the belt from Evans. I really don’t want to see a Rampage vs. Evans fight because their styles combined are not good. Atleast Jardine went at him, Evans will dance around for 3 rounds and Rampage will stand there and wait for him. 4th round someone will do something. But for 3 rounds it would be an uninteresting fight. I think Machida would frustrate Evans with his movement and catch Rashad in a submission or a nice kick to the head in the first or second round.

As long as Evans loses then I am happy. I find him to be one of the more disrespectful fighters in the UFC.

I agree. I think Matt Hughes had it right on TUF!

It doesn’t matter what path he takes to get there, THE DRAGON(machida) will get the belt, and most likely hold it for a while. It’s thought that you’re only as good as the training partners in your camp, well Machida trains w/I beleive somebody called “the spider, or Sanders bilvan, I cant remember, but I’ve heard he’s good!” Power to the UNI-BROW!!!
