By Brandt DeLorenzo on Feb 27, 2009

Josh Stein and Curtis Clontz spend some time with Scott Blevins as they discuss his record, his heroes, and who he wants to fight! This is the eighteenth  episode of the MMA Opinion “Opinionated” podcast.

You may have noticed that we are using a new naming scheme…no more “Opinionated” for the time being.

I don’t think anyone hates you guys. I think there is some confusion as to what Scott Blevins to looking to accomplish at this point.

I give props to anyone who steps into the cage and I think everyone else should do the same. However, I think Scott may need to re-evaluate where he stands in the sport right now. Perhaps fighting a lower weight class, spending more time training, and/or locating a mentor could be helpful.

I wish you all good luck in the sport.

I agree B! It is all insane. Have we heard any update about this story? Is he still in jail?

  14. ironman says:
    March 13, 2009 at 6:11 pm

Firstly, according to all reports, the girl was fourteen years old. Not that it makes it any better, but I thought I would post the report.

I think he’s still in jail. He hasn’t been responding to emails.

“Wow, leave the guy alone i do doubt its blevins hes getting some wheres in his life, just cause you all isnt going any where’s in your career doesn’t give ya rights to dog a fighter and think you can get some where’s mocking the guy cause hes on a streak to success, a sensi wants did say, must plant the seed before to have growth and thats what this guy is doing i mean come on so hes had alot of losses but hes heart is like gold to the mma world and sport u can really see its not about money for him, its about climing his internal goals he holds,..what jackasses on here i support blevins”

this cat is fukn stupid i stumbled on to his videos an seen him tap and on accident i clicked on another vid of him tapping then i clicked on another one of him taping an decided to look up his record this dude is a clown an a molester, plus i love the sport but if i lost 6 in a row i would call it quits an get a real job.

I just had to comment. I read all the comments, listened to the interview via Cage Potatoe and then decided to Youtube some of Scott Blevins fights. It seems in every single fight he throws some silly kick that is just literally going nowhere, not even to size up distance, then he gets invaded and ashamed. I can’t see a positive angle to this “fighter”. Sure chase your dream, but dude, you’re “self training” which is total bullshit. Just because you can play Mike Tysons Punch-Out, doesn’t mean you’re ready to face the champ IRL. You seem like an okay guy, minus that shady punch after the the hand bump when the bell rang, so use that to your advantage and get into something that you’re meant for. You are going to get yourself hurt. Come to Sarasota, FL at the Gracie JJ and learn some things. If you have a BB in BJJ, you wouldn’t fold in these fights. Suck it up at this point and know you’re a terrible fighter with no skills and LEARN some by someone that is QUALIFIED to train you. Take a year off, gain some weight, train and fight in a higher weight class. You’d be surprised.

All charges against the Lionheart were dropped. He still hasn’t won a fight, but he won one against the law. Fight on Blev man. Fight on.
