Breaking News Again: Antwain Britt to fight Jamal Patterson
By Curtis Clontz on Jan 12, 2009
Let’s try this breaking news with Antwain Britt again. After some opponent problems, it seems like his next fight has been lined up and it looks like he will be taking on Jamal Patterson. Britt has been training hard for this fight and should be ready to take the drive up to George Mason. The fight will be a part of the Ultimate Warrior Challenge (UWC) fight card that will take place February 21st and if you are anywhere within driving distance this card will be worth the admission price. Along with seeing the Juggernaut in action Mike Easton will take on Chase Beebe for the UWC world title.
Jamal Patterson could be the most athletic guy that Antwain has faced so far. Patterson was an All American wrestler in high school and wasn’t bad on the football field either as he went on to play football at the University of Colgate. Since 2006 he has had 6 pro fights, currently stands at 4-2, and his last fight ended in a 2nd round TKO. Patterson is said to have a top notch ground game with solid striking. He could provide Antwain with the challenge he has been looking for.
Antwain Britt is not a secret on MMAOpinion. We have had him on the podcast, completed interviews, and he has always answered any questions from the readers. I recently got an email asking about the pictures of Antwain on Sherdog. Go to Antwain’s website and check those pictures. That is the fighter I am always hyping! In regards to fighting it seems like fighters have spent more time dodging Britt than taking the challenge. In his last fight Britt defeated Tomas Sone in the Dominican Republic. We are trying to get our hand son the video, but rumor is Sone tried to slide under the bottom rope to get away from Britt. Once we get it, it will be posted!
Britt had some words regarding the latest “opponent” problems on his website. He said
“It’s so many guys out there to fight, for the life of me I can’t figure out why guys keep backing out of my fights. In the past year I have had four “top tier” guys say ” NO” to the Juggernaut and it’s starting to burn my ass, not like a rash, but more like a heat lamp on a bare bottom……….
Kudo to Patterson for taking the fight and giving us a chance to see a great show! MMAOpinion will be in touch with Antwain between now and the fight, and hope to have him on the podcast again.
Antwain is a friend of the site and he is always up for hearing from the fans, if you have not visited his site antwainbritt.com head over and shoot him an email. He also drops by the site from time to time so if you leave a comment he will see it.
