For all of you who think that Dolloway did not tap to Massenzio’s guillotine, watch Royce Gracie vs. Kimo Leopoldo from UFC 3. Kimo gets caught in an armlock and with his free hand flat on the mat simply raises 4 fingers once and Big John McCarthy immediately stopped it.

The rules are you have to tap three times anyway.
Which means even if he was about to tap, it still doesnt count because he changed his mind soon enough.

Besides, when a guy is really tapping, it’s obvious.

Give me a break, he tapped, it wasnt a little bounce. He had that guillotine pretty tight and CB got scared. You watch the fight youll see him dig it in just a bit more and CB pulls his hand out and taps… Its fu*n CB Dollaway, what more do you need, he taps when they hit the ten second warning clapper just cuz it spooked him!!

Totally agree Brandt, I noticed the tap as well. It just doesn’t make sense for him to make that motion with his hand, there’s no escape that says “slap the side of your opponent’s body twice—and do it quickly”. I was especially annoyed because I picked Massenzio to win a first round submission. I can’t blame CB entirely though, I mean, Massenzio should have closed his guard completely to ensure that CB couldn’t pull out of the choke, and you should always play by the referee’s whistle. I hope the tape gets reviewed, although I highly doubt it will be. Glad someone had the balls to make an article about CB cheating again.

I beleive under the rules, it should be a tap… weather he faked it or not and regardless of how many times he tapped..

The Ref wasn’t in good position even if it was a tap. I for one do not think it was a tap.

Did you check out the post fight press conference when the reporter asked Dolloway about it? Jackson quickly defended him.

had nothing to do with a tap, his hand had just come loose and it bounced a little.

It could’ve been one of those fake taps to get Massenzio to loosen the choke. Since Massenzio has good BJJ, I don’t think he would fall for it. The sad thing Dollaway is probably going to make a habit of doing this, unfortunately.
