Machida won't get a title shot until he beats a big name like Wandy, Rampage, Liddell or Griffin, the fans still don't respect him.

And yes, he is a boring fighter who uses the rules to win fights, but every time you win a decision, and this is a quote from Apollo Creed from Rocky II "I won, but I didn't beat him!!" That's what Machida does to every opponent he decisions. Hell he couldn't even finish the washed up Tito Ortiz.

Fair enough...lol

Sokoudju is a beast, but if he gets destroyed in his next fight then he will lose some of the faith I have in him. Although he is no longer in the UFC we can't discount a win over him.

Good point on ANYONE...

Ok. It's official, I'll have to drop Tito Ortiz. But if Machida defeats Thiago, by decision or stoppage, whatever, however . . . I wonder what the naysayers will say then. Although let's note that just because Sokoudjou was defeated by Luiz Cane, he no longer counts? And vice-versa for Thiago, if he beats Machida? Will that victory be meaningless considering that he hasn't beat anyone.

. . . and now you know there has to be a serious discussion on what "anyone" means, like level of competition and fighting record and frequency(maybe) ;)

Vee I can always count on you..lol

My thing with Machida is that he hasn't beat anyone. Lets be honest who is Tito now a days. Who has he beat lately? He doesn't have a win in over 2 years, and the win over Forrest was almost 3 years ago now.

Everyone he has beat since joining the UFC has lost their contract except for 1, and that guy is has never won in the UFC.

Just some thoughts.
Lyoto defeated a former LHW champion, and top contender in Tito Ortiz*. The guy gets no credit for that?? Ortiz may not be valid but he did defeat Griffin and went to a draw with Evans.

"Manipulates the rules??" That's funny but far from true. Black Belt magazine has a really cool Machida article you should check out. Eventually I'll stop defending Machida, but he's a very unique MMA commodity and he gets the W.

----- Hendo??
OK, I give him credit for winning the belts in Pride, however . .. he had the opportunity to get the LHW belt and fell short. He could not stop the MW champion either. The last fighter he beat in the UFC was Palhares, an upcoming MW fighter. If he does beat Franklin, you got the remember that Franklin is just re-entering the LHW division and hasn't really done anything significant in the division outside of beating Hammill. He doesn't want to face Machida again because he thinks the fight will be boring and I think he will get defeated again.
