Breaking News: Antwain Britt to Fight Nov 15th

By Curtis Clontz on Oct 31, 2008

The Tidewatersportsreport.com always provides the best and most up to date information in Southeastern Virginia. They have done it again with this breaking news on Antwain Britt and his next fight in November! The article also talkes about a former UFC Champion that was slated to fight Antwain and another TUF participant that is on the fight card! The following is an excerpt of what TSR had to say.

Saturday November 15th will be a huge night for MMA in Southeastern Virginia. One of the fastest rising superstars on the planet Antwain Britt makes his long awaited return to the cage. If you are from the VA Beach area then you have heard about Britt as he has grown in the MMA game, if not then you know him from The Ultimate Fighter. Either way you know who this guy is! The Juggernaut will be battling against C. T. “The Hulk” Turner.

Turner gives the state of Kentucky something to root for other than the Wildcats or Cardinals, but will be fighting Antwain in front of his own hometown crowd in Virginia.

Turner’s has had an impressive 3-0 start to his pro record but will have his hands full in this fight! C.T. has a decent overall game but is best known for his BJJ. He is fresh off of a TKO victory in September. The Hulk’s nickname fits as he looks to be in shape from his previous fight, however he will be smaller than Antwain. On TUF it was said that Britt is a little on the small side, but you will be hard pressed to find someone who agrees, especially his opponents. Antwain will be bigger and taller than Turner which will place Turner in no man’s land. Which just so happens to be right in Britt’s punching range. Everyone knows that Antwain has exceptional power and striking skills but he is also rumored to have a very solid ground game and if this match up goes beyond the first minute we may get to see it.

C.T. Turner seems to be a late addition to the fight as it was earlier rumored that Antwain was going to be fighting former UFC champion Dan “The Beast” Severn…

For the rest of the breaking news and Antwain versus Dan Severn, as well as TUF participant Tommy Speers’ opponant on the fight card go to Tidewatersportsreport.com. MMA is not the most popular sport on the site so if it is your favorite sport, let TSR know by making comments about Antwain or the sport in general using the comments section. Help TSR’s current fans appreciate the sport by telling them how great it is!

This is a great matchup for Antwain, and it’s a huge deal.

This is a win over a UFC Hall-of-Famer who, while an old man, is still a substantial athlete and has a great deal of experience. It will really push Antwain’s game planning and his explosiveness.

It should be a great fight.

I’ll be looking for CT Turner smashing Britt on Youtube soon. Somebody sign this kid or you will definitely kick yourself later. When you see how “rocked” up CT is you will expect him to be a big bulky brawler. Guarantee you will be impressed by CT’s athletic ability. To be totally honest this will be a good one but I really have to say that Antwain may need to drop the nickname after this fight. CT is a freak of nature!

Hey Byars, WTF, have you looked at Antwain’s record, or even seen a fight of his? He is a knockout artist. CT will have to “Hulk up” in order to have a chance at the Juggernaut. Plus, Antwain has a better Theme song.

  4. Curtis says:
    November 8, 2008 at 11:01 am

I have to agree with the Fight Zone Host.

I have seen pictures of Turner, and he is a beast, but he is no juggernaut!!!!

It should be a good fight. They are both very big and athletic guys, but I have to give the edge to Antwain!

    Antwain by soul stealing.

  6. Curtis says:
    November 8, 2008 at 11:41 pm

    Soul stealing…is that even legal?

  7. Mitch Gunslinger says:
    November 10, 2008 at 11:57 am

Yep…and it will be demonstrated on Nov. 15th by the Juggernaut!

  8. Curtis says:
    November 10, 2008 at 5:22 pm

    You going to be there?

  9. george smith says:
    November 10, 2008 at 10:21 pm

Look out for antwain britt he is no joke. He has totally stepped his game up. Smash his ass blackem on nov.15

  10. Mitch Gunslinger says:
    November 11, 2008 at 1:16 pm

    Yeah Curtis…I will be there. Can’t wait….

Soul Stealing – v – The theft of someone’s inner being, during a contest of power, either by knockout or submission. The soul exits from the tear duct as the fallen opponent cries like a schoolgirl with a skinned knee. For more information, and a live demonstartion, be at CageFest at The Ted, Sat. Nov. 15th, and watch Antwain Britt use CT Turner as his experiment.

  12. Curtis says:
    November 12, 2008 at 9:26 pm

Fight Zone Host…… I am at a loss for words!!!!! There is nothing that could be said to compliment your last post….perfection!……….At this point you are starting to sound more of a lyricist than a Host/Personality!

    you will see britt
    on our highlander youtube highlight

the fact you wrote what you wrote is a joke and you know NOTHING

  14. Mitch Gunslinger says:
    November 13, 2008 at 10:34 am

Settle down Mike…it is all in good fun. We support Antwain no matter what. You support who you support. In the end, they get in the cage. I have nothing but respect for anyone who does that. I know way more than you think. Are you coming to the show?

  15. Curtis says:
    November 13, 2008 at 1:10 pm

If you guys didn’t hear Cagefest just cut their prices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Brandon J says:
    November 13, 2008 at 3:11 pm

Its quite funny how you are so quick to jump and say Britt will still the soul… expect the unexpected in this fight iff Britts gound game isnt at the level it should be watch CT take him and fold him like a pretzel.. Should be a great fight

  17. Mitch Gunslinger says:
    November 13, 2008 at 3:39 pm

I agree it will be a great fight. The only thing hitting the ground will be CT after getting knocked out. So, yeah, CT will execute his ground game. The big question really is “if” as you say….Antwain’s ground game is no joke either. No one has seen it yet cause in the last 6 or 7 fights…he has only worked a total of 2 1/2 minutes cause he is knocking the taste out of people’s mouths.
Glad to see you support your fighter though…that is what it is all about.

  18. Curtis says:
    November 13, 2008 at 3:55 pm

Good thing Antwain is a purple belt!

  19. Brandon J says:
    November 13, 2008 at 4:15 pm

ive seen CT hit by much bigger men than Britt but you are right he is a very very very tough fighter cant wait to see this one go down and yeah good thing i just wanna see it i think the only people who know how well he is on the ground are his training partners….. cant wait i just cant wait good luck to both fighters

  20. Fight Zone Host says:
    November 13, 2008 at 4:15 pm

Don’t worry guys, I will be sure to interview CT after the fight, if they let me into the cage while he is passed out on the canvas. All joking aside, this will be a great fight. Me and my crew at The Fight Zone, on ESPN Radio 1310, Virginia’s first MMA radio show(shameless self plug) as well as the guys in my band Faceplate, who wrote and performed Antwain’s entrance theme(again….shameless) will support “The Juggernaut” no matter what. We hope Antwain the best and lets just go out and see a good fight!!!! Oh, and Antwain will steal CT’s soul. SUPPORT LOCAL FIGHTERS!!!!

  21. Mitch Gunslinger says:
    November 13, 2008 at 4:16 pm

Brandon J….you coming to the show?

  22. Louisville Byars says:
    November 14, 2008 at 2:23 am

Yanez don’t even bother telling these dudes what’s up. Soul Stealing :-) That’s a good one. When the fight is over Clontz, please write an article about what you witnessed. Plus, make sure you have your camera ready to take that picture of CT being pulled off of Britt. Hope you been training Britt cause CT won’t get tired. And to all the CT haters you have to write an apology for talking crazy. lol. Like I said before SIGN CT “HULK” TURNER before he blows up!

  23. Curtis says:
    November 14, 2008 at 6:49 am

I may not be able tp provide pictures but if C.T wins I will still write about it. Just the same as I would hope you will still comment if Antwain wins.

  24. Fight Zone Host says:
    November 14, 2008 at 7:12 am

Mitch and I will be there with a camera and an MP3 recorder to do interviews. We will treat whoever wins with respect, all this talk has been good fun, thats all. I hope the best for both fighters, but I will always support Antwain.

  25. Fight Zone Host says:
    November 14, 2008 at 7:25 am

Oh, And don’t forget to listen to The Fight Zone tomorrow morning at 8am on ESPN Radio 1310(thats an AM station for you young bucks). We will be giving away Caegfest tix and we will have interviews with fighters from the weigh ins.

  26. Mitch Gunslinger says:
    November 14, 2008 at 8:31 am

I will have pics no matter who wins. It is going to be a great show.

  27. Curtis says:
    November 14, 2008 at 10:11 am

If I can get some of the pics then I will post them with the post-fight article!

  28. Mitch Gunslinger says:
    November 15, 2008 at 7:00 am

No problem Curtis. I will make sure you get a copy of all the pics. Except for the ring girls…lol.

  29. Brandt says:

Mitch, you can host and sell your pictures on MMA Prints if you’d like. Its another site of money where photographers get 75% commission on any photo’s that they sell. You can also use the site to host your photos. I have about 250 Ring of Combat photos on there if you want to check them out. And yes, there is a Ring Girl section, haha.

  31. Mitch Gunslinger says:

    See you up there Curtis.

    Mitch,
What time are you heading up? You going to Quixx after to watch UFC?

  33. Mitch Gunslinger says:
    November 15, 2008 at 12:30 pm

I will be there about 4:30. Oh yeah…definitely going to Quixx for the after party and the UFC. So much MMA today….what a great day and night it will be!

  34. Mitch Gunslinger says:
    November 16, 2008 at 7:39 am

    Great Fight!
Antwain – steals soul in round 2.
Make sure to put that on the highlight video.

  35. Louisville Byars says:
    November 16, 2008 at 7:52 am

Since when do you get 5 minutes to recover from a knee to the stomach? When CT got hit in the nuts twice the ref said keep fighting. I’ve heard stories about people fighting in VA. before. Congrats Antwain :-)

  36. Fight Zone Host says:
    November 16, 2008 at 5:03 pm

First off, Antwain got kneed sqare in the junk, and he gave CT 2 liver punches. How do I know, I was ringside all night, not at one of the round tables, I was RINGSIDE!!! Like I said before, CT started crying, the soul escaped and it was over.
