Sure the UFC has provided a roadmap to success in the industry but that doesn't mean that they have provided the only surefire way to run one in MMA.

A rival show to TUF could be a great start.

If they could do something similar but have a very interesting spin it could work. Even boxing's Contender was solid for a few seasons.

Cool article, here's some additional notes.

1. Put on consistent shows throughout the year. Whether that's 3 shows or more, it just has to be consistent.

2. Create a program or marketing scheme that will rival TUF. You have to give the audience a reason to care about the talent. Although WWE is sports entertainment, they're very successful in creating characters and selling them as individual brands under their umbrella.

In the end, that organization will need their version of Lorenzo Fertitas, a risk taking, patient, investor that understands the sports. They will also need a passionate, visionary leader that eats and sleep MMA 24 hours of the day. The organization needs to be lead by some one commited to MMA. The organization will need Dana White. While it would be cool if Dana White was a little bit more flexible, I totally understand why he runs the UFC they way he does. He's protecting his brand just like Vince McMahon and Steve Jobs. Ruthless business men, but extremely successful.

They will also need some one who can deliver shows with Pride's production values. I really like the shows that they put together.
