UFC Fight Night 14 Viewership Numbers

According to F4W, the UFC saw their third highest non-PPV numbers ever on Saturday night as they battled the Affliction PPV for MMA fan viewership. The Fight Night 14 rating averaged a 2.1 rating and peaked at 3.8 million viewers.
Now we wait to see what the Affliction PPV numbers show. We may see a slightly lower number, or perhaps we’ll find out that many viewers were switching between the Affliction PPV and the free Spike Fight Night show and the Affliction numbers may be slightly higher than expected.
Either way, 100,000 PPV buys would be a major success for Afflction for their first show on Saturday Night.

This should send a message to both Spike and the UFC. Put on a card with big names and promote it, and you will see strong numbers.
The U.K. events should always be tape delay on Spike. The UFC might not make as much, but they will end up with strong viewership and thus elevate the exciting winners.
Spike needs to A) Pony up a little more money on occasion to have a bigger card and B) Increase the marketing and promotion of UFC events. Lately, they seem content to assume that UFC fans will always watch, when they need to be working on drawing new folks to watch the Spike cards.
and C) Invest in HD!
