Videos: Cote and Stevenson Stay Alive. For Now.
By Brandt DeLorenzo on Jul 06, 2008
Watch Patrick Cote somehow get the decision win over Ricardo Almeida here.
As for Joe Steveson, he was up against a much larger and potentially dangerous (to BJ Penn, at least) Gleison Tibau. He got lucky in this fight!
I don’t see either fighter going too far, unfortunately. Cote doesn’t have any ground game to compete with anyone else in his division and Stevenson already go destroyed by BJ Penn once. We’ll see what Joe Silva and Dana White have in store for them.

Stevenson was getting beat in my opinion till he pulled the sub….
Stevenson looked tiny next to Tibau, but he did pull off some nice jiu jitsu here and there. Tibau should’ve ended it because I see him as a threat in the division. He can work his way back up though. As for Cote, he’s going to need a lot of work to stay dominant. He got very lucky.
I agree, I think Cote needs a lot of work. He didn’t impress me that much last week.
