Well Starnes tried to blow it off as an injury, but we've seen him with a split head, we saw Couture break his arm, and Hamill with a completely split lip. The old Starnes wanted to fight and Couture and Hamill didn't even feel their pain. Why? Well because they wanted to win! So, I completely agree that Starnes didn't fulfill his end of the agreement, but taking it out on the fans was weak.

I'd be scared to death to face Quarry.

BUT.. injured or not.. wanting out or not..

It's disrespectful to:
the fighter who agreed to face YOU,
the crowd who paid THEIR MONEY to see YOU,
the team that you have in YOUR CORNER,
the organization that agreed to pay YOU that evening,
every other fighter who train in YOUR sport,
AND the sport that you participate in,

..if you don't come out and give it your all.

Get knocked out.
Submit.
EARN that L on your record.

Lose trying your best.. at least you get to keep your dignity and earn respect.

Best fight ever: Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonner.

Well he was released today, but he is saying that he wanted out due to issues with his medical bills from prior fights. The UFC has been in the spotlight recently with fighters complaining of different issues - not good.

If Starnes isn't dropped from the roster, I'll be shocked. I agree that Quarry should have finished this fight, and (despite what people will say about Starnes' backpeddling) he had opportunities to finish it.

I do hope that Starnes gets ostracized and smashed by the Canadian fanbase, because that seemed to be his only serious support, and he didn't deserve that, given his actual quality as a fighter.

Kalib's performance was abismal, but then again so was Nate Quarry's. I think Quarry is getting alot of props for not alot. Fair enough Quarry had a difficult time being in the ring with someone who obviously didn't want to be there, but why not punish Kalib by closing the distance and controlling him in the clinch, when the odd occassion where there was a clinch Quarry did nothing. He repeatedly threw the same combination, 1,2, right leg kick, 1,2, right leg kick, 1,2.....and the fact that Kalib did not counter the predictable combination, and nothing to check the kicks just adds to what was already a terrible fight all round. I know its alright me sitting at a computer and typing this, and i respect anyone who steps foot in the cage, but personally, from looking at his previous fights, I'd say Starnes is scared of getting hurt. There's no shame in that but it doesn't make for a good scrap.
