I could write a standup comedy routine on The Ultimate Fighter. Every season provides two or three idiots who need to get their lives together before they start working on their career as professional athletes. Normally Dana White decides to throw these numbskulls off of the show, but his decision to let Junie Browning, one of the most annoying and, frankly, stupid fighters in the history of the show is beyond me.
This is early in the season, before the second fight, but I thought that, even given how early it was in the show, Browning’s behavior is unacceptable. Obviously, it makes for some good drama in the house, but as someone who doesn’t watch the show for the drama, I have to say that I don’t much care to see this kind of crap. It reflects badly (as Dana White, to his credit, always points out) on the sport as a whole, and we don’t need that.
I’ve always had a huge respect for Dana for throwing these guys off the show when they act like this. I was happy with the decision to throw the juvenile JT Money off of the final card after his Vegas Romp, so I was surprised that Dana didn’t immediately do away with Browning, though the lack of violence makes it a little more understandable.
I will say that I liked the decision to have Shane Nelson fight Escudero, because I thought that the winner of that fight was obvious. My only regret is that Dana did not suggest that Junie Browning move up to the lightheavyweight division to fight Krysztof Soszynski (my pick the win the lightheavyweight division). If you challenge a professional fighter who out weights you by 70 pounds to take a swing at you, then you deserve to get hit by a professional fighter who weighs 70 pounds more than you.
Not to get too deep into this, or to rag too hard on a fighter who clearly has a lot of issues, Junie Browning reminds me of the fighters, in the old days, who would show up at a gym and attack the instructor with the hopes of undermining his authority and establishing themselves. Junie Browning, honestly, doesn’t have the skills to do that, and he needs to stop.
That said, last nights episode of the Ultimate Fighter established my pick to win the lightweight division on that show: Efrain Escudero.

Shame on Dana and the UFC!!!!
Busch League, strait Busch league… Just because the show has had disappointing ratings so far does not mean that you should allow a lunatic to run loose in the house!
If these types of things keep happening in the house, it is only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt or worse leaving a black eye on the show and organization forever!
