In a move that is nowhere near as shocking as Ken Griffey Jr. being a White Sock or the packers offering Favre money to stay away from football, the UFC has released TUF 7 problem child Jesse Taylor. Dana White and the UFC have always talked about changing the thug-like image of fighters and creating a respectable atmosphere from the media and fans to the fighters. That is hard to accomplish when you have someone on your very popular reality show kicking out car windows. The guy that got drunk and said he was a UFC fighter is no more.
According to MMAJunkie, sources close to Taylor stated that he has pretty much “been let go”. His most recent release came from what seems to be an episode of diarrhea of the mouth when he made negative comments about the UFC and former Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton Jackson. Taylor said “Oh yeah, it’s a big double standard”, “I’m sure if I were the ex-middleweight champion, I could get away with stuff. I’m sure if I would have done (What rampage did) I would be banned.” Turns out these comments were made at the wrong time and made the UFC look at the 0-1 (in the UFC) fighter and decide to part ways.
Taylor could be the next post-UFC fighter to search for work outside of the octagon. He does have a solid wrestling background and could be an asset to an MMA organization if he can improve his fight game while using his name to market himself. He does not have the skills to fight against the big name fighters around the world outside of the UFC, but used correctly, he could generate popularity through his ex-TUF namesake and work his way up in another organization.

I think Jesse Taylor is an asinine fool. I think he should close his big, annoying mouth and he should work on improving himself.

He should have never been allowed to fight in the UFC at all!

Taylor’s right, to some extent. If he was a former lightheavyweight champion, if he fought like Rampage and drew the pay-per-view numbers that Rampage draws, the UFC (and all of their fans) would be a little more willing to look past the bull that he gets tied up in.
The problem is, Jesse’s a dick, and he’s not a great fighter. When you couple those things together, he’s more of an problem than a solution, and it’s better for everyone if he leaves.
The fact that he got destroyed by CB Dollaway basically killed his chances of getting to fight Amir, and so the UFC has no reason to hang on to him, no reason to publicize him.
Personally, I’m glad he’s gone. He was a waste of contract money and was causing alot of problems that the sport doesn’t need.

Just like Manny Ramirez… If you are a disruption then you need to go somewhere else… Manny is now a Dodger and Taylor is looking for work!

Curtis, I was going to go with Jeremy Shockey, but that pretty much says it. The only unfair thing about that analogy is that Taylor is nowhere near as talented as either of those guys. He’s an ego without the benefit of being great at what he does.

Better analogy…
Maurice Clarett! If you don’t know who he WAS… Google his name and you will get all the information you need to understand all that he did!

Yeah, I remember that Tostitos Bowl between Oklahoma and Miami. One of my friends got to go for his birthday. Lucky bastard.
Clarrett’s a good one.

What a waste of air! Taylor may not be a true felon and the Clarret comparison may be a bit harsh, but he in my opinion he has no place to say the things he did…
I say let him fight one more fight………..against Rampage! Then when he cries after the whoopin, send him home to work at Burger King.

I like that idea, but it would be a waste of Rampage’s comeback fight, and then he’d have to fight two in order to legitimize himself.
Personally, I’d like to see Taylor fight Sokoudjou, because the African Assassin would beat him into a living death. (yeah, I quoted Ken Shamrock)
As for Rampage’s next opponent, I’m thinking he’ll fight Wanderlei. ‘page vs. Silva II, or ‘page vs. Thiago Silva, which would be a fun fight.
