DREAM. 1 - Bouts announced and WVR Card Finalized

It was announced today in Japan through a very Dream Stageish new website, www.dreamofficial.com the official DREAM website, that 3 new bouts have been added to the very much anticipated March 15th Lightweight Grand Prix. While not neccesarily the most compelling bouts thus far, they will serve as an appetizer for the 2nd round, which will be one for history books. Another thing that should be noted is the appearance of Kultar Gill, who wasn’t originally announced but is now participating and he is no stranger to the FEG GP circuit The announced match-ups are:

Heiwa DREAM. 1

  1. Tatsuya “Crusher” Kawajiri vs. Kultar “Black Mamba” Gill
  2. Kazuyuki Miyata vs. Luis “Buscape” Firmino
  3. Joachim “Hellboy” Hansen vs. Koutetsu Boku
  4. Shinya Aoki vs. Gesias “JZ” Calvancanti

Remaining Announced Participants:

  • Artur Oumakhanov
  • Andre Dida
  • Mitsuhiro Ishida
  • Caol Uno
  • Gilbert Melendez
  • Jung Bu-Kyung

The World Victory Road card has also been supposedly finalized with K-1 Veteran Peter Graham stepping in to face Kazuyuki “Iron Head” Fujita. All this information and more can be seen at the official World Victory Road and Sengoku site here. The final card is as followed:

World Victory Road presents Sengoku

  1. Fabricio Monteiro vs. Nick Thompson
  2. Ryo Kawamura vs. Antonio Braga Neto
  3. Makoto Takimoto vs. Evangelista Cyborg
  4. Kazuyuki Fujita vs. Peter Graham
  5. Kazuo Misaki vs. Siyar Bahadurzada
  6. Takanori Gomi vs. Duane Ludwig
  7. Hidehiko Yoshida vs. Josh Barnett

Preview for this show is definitely going to be posted by this weekend. I’ve been flooded with school work (Comm. Studies mostly) but I’m confident that I’ll have a preview up for this show soon. Also, a preview for the DREAM. 1 Show when the time gets closer and they finalize a card obviously.

Thanks for the update, Ernest. I’m looking forward to some of the fights on the Sengoku card (Barnett vs. Yoshida, Gomi vs. Ludwig) It’ll be good to see Barnett fight again, and to see if Gomi can recover from his loss.

Also looking forward to JZ vs. Aoki. It’s about damn time.

  2. Brandt DeLorenzo says:

Something bad will probably happen and the JZ/Aoki fight will get postponed again, haha. I’m excited for DREAM, but not for Black Mamba. When he fought Ridgrigo Damm during BodogFight St. Petersburg, he was such a one-dimensional bore. He held the ropes repeatedly to avoid takedowns. Luckily for the fans, he got choked out…again.
